Ink Wash

So here is my ink wash finished. I may add charcoal or conte in the next class, so if I do, I will update. It's not the best, but it was fun to do.

Close to the end, before taking off the wax.

After removing the wax.

 Wall and edge of speaker.

Close up of the bricks- my favorite part of this piece.

More bricks!

Speaker close up.

Like I said, the brick turned out to be my favorite part. I actually think the piece would have been successful even if it had been just a brick wall. Maybe I could do a small scale version of a wall to see how it looks...

oh and here is my successful non- representational piece:

Enjoy!

Slouching into Fall

Well i don't know about you, but i love fall because of the fall fashions. i'm always looking forawrd to seeing the new sweaters and boots that come out each fall. Plus it's so much fun going to cider mills and the fall holidays are the best...So anyway, my most favorite article of fall clothing is the sweater. This year, i am really into the off the shoulder, slouchy sweater look. i have two lightweight sweaters like this and i want more! Here's some that i like:

i also love the slouchy sweater...soo comfy!

my favorite slouchy sweater is just like this- except a lighter pink and slightly modified neckline. i love it and wear it all the time.

love this crocheted one!!

ahh this one is too cute! i think it would look cute in ligth pink :)

i found a lot of great sweaters at this site: Free People check it!!

Playing with Ink

So this week in Drawing II we are working on ink washes with wax. It's actually pretty fun to do, though it's a little tedious and there's an element of uncertainty to it, which adds to the mystery of the end result. I've already done two experimental projects- the first failed, miserably, and i'm still not sure how the second one turned out yet, I still have to iron off the wax. So far, i think it was more successful than the first. The assignment is to create a full scale rendering of an architectural object in the room. I chose a speaker mounted on a brick wall. I like to take pictures of works in progress, so once I get to the end result, I will post with my succession photos. In the meantime, i found some great examples of ink washes to show you what i mean...

I think she has some great abstract ink washes. Check out her blog!

I'll update within the next week with my work!

Forever Lazy Fashion?

Have you seen this? Ridiculous!
And I thought the pajama jean was bad.

Attack of the Moustachios

The moustache craze is hard to ignore. I wasn't really aware of this fact until I went to Urban Outfitters for the first time with my cousin, Amanda, and my bofriend, Shaun. If you've never been, I recommend you check this store out. Althogh it's a little out of my price range, I liked the variety and quality of the products. One thing I really want is this camera because it takes pics like this:

Of course I'm no professional photographer but it does gives the pictures some pretty nice effects. Plus developing pictures is so much more exciting than seeing them instantly, at least I think so.
So besides that camera, they also had some great books, including Awkward Family Photos, which of course are hilarious

Hello? Is it me you're looking for?
What in the world made them think this was ok for a wedding photo? She must love the soaps.
It's going to be a rather black Christmas this year...
All I can do is laugh at this one...
Check out the website here to look at all the photos. It will keep you entertained for a while I promise.
So anyway, getting back to the moustaches!
I found these great sunglasses
Amanda totally rocked them, mine was falling down a bit, then I realized that they were two different styles of staches!! Then of course we found many more moustache products, one of my favorites being this moustache flask.
We also saw a guy that was totally rocking a full on moustache, before we went to the store and saw all the stache stuff. Coincidence? I wish I could have taken a pic of his moustache.

Then Amanda shared with me this awesome winter hat

for more moustache products check out this site: 10 Creative Moustache Obsessed Products
My favorite being this salt and pepper shaker
So i'm not sure what the obsession with moustaches is all about...but i think i'm digging it. Are you?
